FOOTBALL & CHEER

The Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks offers competitive youth football and cheer programs. Football players will be placed on teams based on age, weight, evaluation, and team requirements. Indicate child’s weight and experience in notes when registering. Evaluations to determine your players placement will occur during the summer practices, we strongly encourage you to plan vacations before August.

Football Early Registration (before July 10th): $160.00
Football Late Registration (beginning July 11th): $185.00

Cheer Early Registration (before July 10th): $125.00
Cheer Late Registration (beginning July 11th): $150.00

 

To ensure your child a position on a team, we strongly urge you to register before May 31st. Registration after July 10th will result in a late charge of $25.00 and late issuance of equipment. A signed medical release form from a doctor and a Maryland State ID Card are required. Practice begins the week of August 3rd and will be held five nights per week in August before school starts, and three nights thereafter for the duration of the season. Games are held on Saturdays and some Friday nights, and will require travel. Inclement weather make up games may be held on any day of the week. The season will run through mid November except for those teams that continue into post season championships.

 

Late Fee: A $25 late fee will apply to all registrations after July 10th

Refunds: A $29 administrative fee will be deducted from refund requests made prior to July 1. A 50% administrative fee will be deducted from refund requests made July 1st-August 10th. No refunds after August 10th.

Equipment: Each athlete will be issued equipment. A $250 deposit check will be required at equipment checkout. Each player must provide: athletic supporter and cup, pants, practice jersey, mouthpiece, socks, and cleats.
